GOLD BEARISH OUTLOOK
π FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS
πΊπΈ 1. Federal Reserve & Inflation
US inflation remains persistent, keeping monetary policy expectations in focus. A more hawkish Fed, supported by resilient economic data, could push Treasury yields higher and increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets such as gold.
π΅ 2. US Dollar (DXY)
The dollar remains a key variable for gold. A renewed DXY recovery would create potential downside pressure on XAUUSD, particularly if accompanied by rising US yields. However, the dollar has recently weakened, so confirmation of a bullish reversal in the DXY is essential before strengthening the bearish thesis.
π 3. Treasury Yields & Monetary Policy
Higher US bond yields can weigh on gold by making interest-bearing assets more attractive. Markets are currently balancing persistent inflation against uncertainty surrounding the Fed's next decisions, creating the potential for volatility in both yields and precious metals.
π TECHNICAL CONFLUENCE
β’ Sell zone: 4,180β4,183 β’ First downside target: 4,164 β’ Extended target: 4,147 β’ Invalidation: Strong bullish reclaim above 4,183β4,186
Price has rejected the recent highs and is showing short-term bearish pressure. I am looking for a retracement into the supply zone, followed by bearish confirmation and a continuation toward the downside liquidity levels.
π― THE TRADE IDEA
The ideal scenario is a technical rejection supported by a stronger DXY and rising US yields. If these macro conditions fail to materialize, the bearish setup becomes less convincing.
β οΈ Important: The latest macro backdrop has also supported gold through a weaker dollar and lower yields. This means the bearish scenario is conditional on fresh confirmation rather than a clear fundamental consensus.
BIAS: BEARISH β Sell the retracement only if technical and fundamental confirmation align.
