Quant Room EA
A gold robot for MetaTrader 5, built around the rules a funded account is actually judged by.
A prop firm account is not lost by being wrong. It is lost by breaking a drawdown rule. This was written the other way round from most robots: the limits came first and the signal was fitted inside them.
A challenge, a funded account, or your own live account at your own broker — the same robot, the same limits. Nothing about it assumes a prop firm; that is simply where the rules are strictest.
What it will not do
Risk is a percentage, not a lot size
Every position is sized from the distance to its stop, so 0.5% of the balance is 0.5% whatever the volatility is doing that morning. Rounded down to the broker's step, never up.
A daily loss limit you set below the firm's
At the threshold it stops opening positions for the rest of the day. The figure is read from the whole account's booked result, not only the trades it opened itself — which is how a firm counts it.
One stop and one target, placed with the order
No grid, no martingale, no averaging into a loser, no position without a stop on the server. The three habits that pass a challenge on a lucky week and lose the account on an ordinary one.
How it trades
Gold only, on the five-minute chart. It takes a short-term moving average crossover, but only when ADX says there is a trend to join and the slower average is actually travelling — a crossover on two flat lines is the whipsaw that empties a scalping account. The stop comes from ATR, the target is the same distance again, and a trade is skipped outright when the spread is wide against that stop.
It finds the broker's gold symbol on its own — XAUUSD, XAUUSD.raw, GOLD and the rest of the naming zoo — and adapts to a feed quoted with two or three decimals, so one settings file holds good across accounts.
What the test showed
Gold on the five-minute chart, run against real recorded ticks — not generated ones — across three different brokers, including one of the wider gold spreads on the market.

The drawdown is the figure to weigh. 7.2% of the peak balance clears a 10% rule and breaks a 6% one — check yours before anything else, and set the robot's own daily limit under your firm's.

Thinking about running it?
Tell me the firm and the account size and I will tell you the settings to use — or whether I would leave it alone for that set of rules.
